lyrics
I got a time machine, bought it off T.V.
Was a commercial break on Jeopardy
Everything's a gamble, nothing is free
The answer is a question, don’t ask me
Computer in your pocket, nobody has to know
Two fingers in the socket, breaker's gonna blow
Trouble on the line, fodder in the feed
What you want, not what you need
Please don't call me crazy
Please don't call me crazy
Please don't call me crazy
God is a hero from the silver screen
Slicked back hair doesn't mean a thing
Taking it easy takes a heavy toll
She wants it hot, it's gettin’ cold
Please don't call me crazy
Please don't call me crazy
Please don't call me crazy

Melancholic and energetic in equal parts, this album continues the trend of no New Pornographers album sounding the same. It's shaping up to be one of my favorites. heavydraws

The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues/bluegrass stylings. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'.
Deep grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, seemingly written for his son. The rest, composed by JT, do confirm what a great songwriter he really was. tideracer
